Tips on viewing and interpreting gene trees:
Gene trees are in newick format. This format can be opened with any tree viewing program - I recommend itol.embl.de
The gene trees are unrooted. Unlike species trees, it is not possible to simply root the tree using a known outgroup. It is sometimes difficult to know where to root the tree, but it often helps to view the tree in an rooted format first. And use the Caenorhabditis phylogeny to help you.
If you are unable to find a gene tree for your chosen gene, it is likely because it is contained within a orthogroup that contains 3 or fewer sequences. Inferring trees for these gene families doesn't make a great deal of sense...
Search using C. elegans transcript IDs, WormBase gene IDs, or locus names...
